Monday Sketch

Okay, you get it. I’ll be sketching on vacation all week and I’m not interested in creating a category for it, so I’ll stash them in Saturday Sketchbook, capisce?

As I wrapped this one up and started to leave the girl sitting next to me – who plopped herself down at Starbucks without ordering something (who does that?) said “Sorry, I was watching you”.

As if I would have a problem with that.

Saturday Sketchbook on Sunday – Starbucks, Jackson MI

Here’s a Saturday Sketchbook post – on a Sunday!

I’m starting to get a powerful urge to take up painting again, something I haven’t done much of since starting this webcomic.

To that end, from here on out I’ll try to sketch and retain enough information to paint from the sketch. Previously, I would do quick sketches and rely too much on photo reference that I would take. That got pretty old and tedious fast. For the next chapter of painting I want to try and “draw” on imagination to fill in the blanks.

I love drawing from live models and I haven’t done it in awhile. I’m getting the urge to go to one of the local Dr. Sketchy’s sessions in the next few months.
